After pick-up from your hotel or accommodation (free service between the cities of Ponta Delgada, Lagoa and Ribeira Grande), from 9:00 until 9:20, we start the full day Furnas / East Tour , “Gastronomy, Hot Springs, Boilers & Fumaroles” towards one of the most emblematic volcanic areas of São Miguel, considered the capital of the Azorean tourism;
We will start your excursion through Avenue do Mar, always with the coast on our side, until we reach the beautiful dark-colored beach, Praia do Pópulo;
Passing through the beaches of Água D`Alto, as we head towards the center of the first capital of the island, Vila Franca do Campo;
Next stop, will be at the marina of Vila Franca, ( where visitors and locals can board the boat, to Ilhéu de Vila, where every year, we do the Red Bull Cliff Diving, and also where we visit the famous Vila Franca do Campo custard factory;
After this delicious break, it will be time to drive to the top of the incredible, Sra. da Paz Chapel with your imposing staircase, to see the entire area of Vila Franca and its islet, the result of an underwater volcanic eruption.
Next stop will be at Furnas lake, place where we cook the famous “Cozido” of Furnas “. in volcanic soil for 6 hours, (Entrance not included, available by choice or at customer’s expense) here we can also observe the removal of the pots from inside the volcanic soil by local restaurants and where we can visit also the various fumaroles and boilers from that area;
Back on the road, towards the Parish of Furnas you can optionally relax in natural pools of hot termal waters, over 30 degrees;
This is an experience of thermal charisma, to the Terra Nostra Garden. (Entry not included, available by choice or at customer’s expense), where in addition to being able to swim in the termal pools, you can also visit its amazing Botanical Garden, considered one of the best and large in all Europe;
Lunch Break (Lunch included);
After lunch, a pedestrian visit to the center of the parish of Furnas to visit more fumaroles, boilers and taste some of the 22 mineral springs from that area;
The visit in the Furnas center will be complemented with a taste of different local liqueurs;
Driving to the north side of the Island, next stop, will be at Pico do Ferro viewpoint, where you can see the magnitude of the Furnas volcanic crater, and is lake;
Continuing north, next stop will be at tea plantation / factory, for a tea tasting and to learn the whole process of growing tea;
After a full day tour to Furnas area, full of history and magnificent scenery, it is time to return to your accommodation.

Smelly but worth it! Fantastic day out at Furnas. Went to the hot springs, bubbling water, and mud, the smell was like rotten eggs, but you soon forget it when you’ve been there for a while. It was great to see the restaurante owners coming to uncover their meat and vegetable stews that had been cooking underground, and afterwards we went to a restaurante and ate the stew. An excellent day out with Azores Dream Tours. Also included going to a tea plantation, which i didn’t realise they grew in the Azores. Delicious! Highly recommend the tour.

Amazing experience with this company. Couldn’t be happier. Was slightly apprehensive as they don’t have as many reviews as some of the others but it was incredible. The tours were well thought out and planned with knowledgeable guides. We booked 2 half day tours and that was plenty, don’t see the need for the full 8 hours. Our first tour had a total of 7 people, the second tour was just my girlfriend and I. We got a private 4 hour tour of Furnas and thermal springs. Highly recommended. Vehicles were Mercedes vans and the last private tour was in a Mercedes sedan. Real quality experience, would recommend this to anyone to get a real taste of the island.
