After pick-up at your Hotel or Accommodation (free service between the cities of Ponta Delgada, Lagoa and Ribeira Grande), from 9:00 am until 9:20 pm, we start the full-day Northeast circuit, “ The tenth Azorean flowering island ”heading to one of the most flowery areas of São Miguel Island and home to the natural habitat of one of Europe’s rarest birds, the Priolo.
First stop north of the island will be in the Ribeira Grande volcanic zone to see the area where the “Ribeira Grande stew” is cooked in volcanic soil and all its volcanic manifestations in the surrounding areas. Also here in the same area, optionally, you can relax in a thermal water tank, in Termas da Ribeira Grande (entrance not included, available by choice or on behalf of the client).
After this incredible stop we will go to the Santa Iria viewpoint, where you can see superb escarpments overlooking the Atlantic, which was staged on August 3, 1831 in the Battle of Ladeira Velha, where D. Pedro IV’s troops defeated those of the his brother D. Miguel, paving the way for the concession of Évora Monte that ended the Civil War between liberals and miguelists.
Afterwards, we will travel along the verdant Tea Route on the north coast of the island called the “Verde” island of the Azores for a tea tasting and visit the only tea plantations in Europe, the Gorreana tea factory that started in 1883 by Ermelinda Gago da Câmara and his son José Honorato or the Porto Formoso tea factory, founded by Amâncio Machado Faria e Maia, who worked between the 20th and 80th century. In 1998, rehabilitation works were initiated by the current owners.
After this well-deserved stop and with renewed energies, we will enjoy a sumptuous view of the Furnas volcanic crater through the Salto do Cavalo Viewpoint, at the far end of the Northeast Council.
This is followed by the Watchtower, Vigia das Baleias, formerly a whaling spot of whales, used as such until mid-1986, when the last whaling factory in the Region was closed, and following directives and entry. of Portugal in the EEC, European Economic Community.
Later, we stop at Salto da Farinha Viewpoint, a name given when milling cereals in the past, and from where you can see a waterfall of about 40 meters, more visible in the winter months.
Lunch break (lunch included).
After lunch, stop at the Ribeira dos Caldeirões Natural Park, one of the most visited areas in the Northeast, where its 5 watermills, its magnificent waterfall, and the trail that winds along the river stand out.
Walking Tour, or in a car through the arteries of Vila de Nordeste, elevated to the category of Villa by D. Manuel I, on June 18, 1514, where we can see the centenary Bridge of Seven Arches and see the Mother Church of St. George built in 1796, where inside there are images of the extinct Franciscan Convent of 1642 and a 16th century image of the orago.
A visit to the Vista dos Barco viewpoint, from where we have a view of Ponta do Arnel and its Lighthouse, the oldest in São Miguel.
Time to go to one of the most emblematic viewpoints in the Northeast, A Ponta do Sossego. An authentic garden by the sea, perched on a cliff by the sea where we observe the immensity of the ocean, much used to watch the sunrise.
Back on the road, we have the destination of Ponta da Madrugada Viewpoint, another breathtaking view.
And finally, the first settlement in São Miguel, Azores stopped at Vila da Povoação, with 2424 inhabitants and discovered by Diogo de Silves in 1427, and its settlement began in 1444, with Gonçalo Velho Cabral as its governor.

We do not only sell circuits … but a set of experiences. We are well aware that when it comes time to choose a tour, you have more options and they all claim to have and be “the best”, but what sets us apart from all the others?
This circuit lasts for 9 relaxing hours instead of the 8 hours practiced by most companies because we want and are required to give our customers the fullest possible set of experiences during their full day visit to the Northeast, and That is why we have filled this tour even more by adding more extra stops such as: The Caldeiras, the areas for cooking cooked on volcanic soil and the Ribeira Grande Hot Springs, where you can optionally relax in a hot water tank. We want you to take time out of your vocabulary on this day… don’t worry, we have the right time to start, but not to end. We are proud to say that we have the best value / circuit practiced in the market, so even if it is cheaper, we equal the price.
We are not a big company… we don’t have big cars… but a GREAT SERVICE.
